Meeting Owl Pro

Meeting Owl Pro – 360-Degree, 1080p HD Smart Video Conference Camera, Microphone, and Speaker (Automatic Speaker Focus & Smart Zooming and Noise Equalizing)

Introducing a new point of view. The Meeting Owl Pro is a premium 360-degree camera, mic, and speaker device that creates the most immersive meeting experience for hybrid teams and classrooms.

Featuring plug-and-play simplicity, compatibility with your favorite video conferencing platforms, and intelligent autofocus on whoever is speaking.

Built for large conference rooms and classrooms with 1080p HD resolution and an 18-foot (5.5-meter) microphone pickup range. Zoom-recommended hardware and one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2020.

The Owl is still the category leader for its niche, which is flexible group meetings of 3 or more persons spread out in an arc over 120 degrees.

I acquired the original Owl when it was new, and looked forward to this improved Owl Pro. I use the Owl in several scenarios.

Large group informal meetings where there are as many as 50 people scattered all around, sometimes in a full 360 degrees in an open office

The louder speakers are by far the biggest improvement (the former system was very weak for larger spaces). The video and “smart” microphones do work better, but not very much so.

As a result, you were far more impressed with the original Owl which seemed “ahead of its time”, vs. the Pro which seems almost like a lazy update.

The image quality from the Owl Pro is really quite bad. Between this camera and the Logitech Meetup, which is about the same price and designed for a similar usage, I would take the Meetup every time.

Although the speaker detection and zoom on the Owl are pretty good and switch quickly, overall it has several major flaws.

Enjoy a fast and easy meeting setup with the Meeting Owl Pro. Simply plug in the power and USB, launch your preferred video conferencing platform, and start your meeting.

Compatible with virtually all web-based video conferencing platforms, including Zoom, GoToMeeting, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Cisco Webex, BlueJeans, and many others.
